Autumn is all about preparing your lawn for the cold months ahead when grass growth slows but weeds and disease may prevail. Our Autumn treatment focuses on strengthening the grass and enriching the soil to improve overall health and targets problem areas whilst still maintaining that lush green colour we have grown to love.
As with every season your lawn requires a unique blend of nutrients and maintenance, our Autumn Treatment helps your lawn to prepare as much as possible for the unpredictable weather conditions ahead.
How it works
Fertiliser – As part of our Autumn Treatment we use a fertiliser specially formulated to help the soil and grass prepare for winter, with a low level of fast and slow release nitrogen and increased levels of potassium and phosphorus to aid cold tolerance and resistance to disease, giving your lawn optimum nourishment until the winter treatment. Find out more about our fertiliser.
Bio Booster Spray – This is a completely organic seaweed fertiliser to supplement soil health and improve its ecosystem. With more than 70 vitamins and minerals, the seaweed stimulates the bacteria which helps to release existing nutrients, aids in the prevention of disease, helps the break down of organic matter – particularly helpful on lawns with thatch, and is completely safe for humans, plants and animals. Find out more about how seaweed benefits your lawn.
Moss Control Spray – When required this helps to kill moss and green-up your lawn by providing the essential micronutrients required for chlorophyll production and so maintains the overall health of the lawn, improves strength and durability, and helps in the resistance of disease and fungal problems.
What to expect
After your Autumn Treatment your lawn will continue to stay green but the growth will begin to slow down. What you won’t see is the activity below the surface as the root system strengthens and the plant readily prepares for winter.
How to prepare
For best results please mow and clear your lawn of debris.
Not clearing leaves from your lawn for extended periods can greatly encourage lawn diseases like Fusarium which thrives in damp conditions. A build-up of leaves and debris crushes grass blades whilst also inhibiting light from reaching the grass, trapping moisture in and providing ideal damp conditions for the development of moss and disease. Leaves that are left also begin to rot which causes changes in the PH levels of the soil and therefore can disrupt the balance of the soil ecosystem and your lawn health can become compromised. To avoid any of these problems it is best practice to clear fallen leaves and debris from your lawn as regularly as possible.
