Winter Treatment

Winter is the time to protect your lawn against the stresses of extreme temperatures and unpredictable weather conditions with focus on strength, defense, and prevention. Despite the lack of growth it still needs nourishment and help in order to prevent fungal diseases and to keep moss at bay.

Our Winter Treatment helps to strengthen grass and in particular it targets moss which thrives during the damper, colder months. Our treatment also provides the essential micronutrients that are used for chlorophyll production in all plants which will help to green-up your lawn during the darker months, as well as assist the process of photosynthesis, to ensure the longevity and the health of your lawn over the winter period.

How it works

Moss Control Spray – When required this helps to kill moss and green-up your lawn by providing the essential micronutrients required for chlorophyll production and so maintains the overall health of the lawn, improves strength and durability, and helps in the resistance of disease and fungal problems.

What to expect

During this time of year you can expect the least amount of growth and after our Winter Treatment you will notice that any moss we have found will blacken and die back. However, you can rest assured that by now your lawn has received the optimum care to maintain its health until the spring, and after this last treatment you will even see that your lawn will greenup after this last nutrient boost of the year.

How to prepare

For best results, remove all leaves and debris from your lawn, it might even need a mow. But be sure not to go out on your lawn if there is any frost as this will cause damage to the grass.

Frost or snow covered lawns are best left to thaw before walking on because as the water within the grass blades crystallise in cold weather they can then become very brittle. When stood on the grass blades can snap easily and this can cause the grass to die. But rest assured your grass will recover, so simply try to avoid walking on frosty or snow covered grass.

Regular maintenance is the key to a healthy lawn so you may still need to mow your lawn during the winter months, just less often. Growth does slow during winter due to the lack of sunshine and colder weather, but continuing some maintenance will help to prevent diseases and moss.

Regular maintenance will ensure a healthy, happy lawn. During winter it is best that the lawn is free of leaves and debris, avoid standing on the lawn during frost or snow and keep an eye out for excessive damp spots that might encourage disease. Our Winter Treatment will then help to strengthen the lawn and fight off the moss so that when spring comes and new growth begins, your lawn will be in optimum health to grow strong and green, fight off disease and prevent pests.

Seasonal Treatments

Spring is the season of growth, so it's time to prepare for the year ahead, providing your lawn with essential nutrients for optimum strength.

Early Summer

Summer is the time that you want to be outside making the most of your garden, so a healthy, stronger and greener lawn is always our mission.

Late Summer

During the summer your lawn uses its energy to grow rapidly and so requires essential nutrients to fight against drought and disease.

Autumn is the time to prepare your lawn for the cold months ahead when grass growth slows but weeds and disease may prevail.

Annual Treatments

This is a vital ‘spring clean’ for the lawn and an essential annual treatment to remove unwanted organic matter such as dead grass, moss and weeds, to revive the shoots and thicken up the grass.

An essential Annual Treatment we recommend is the Hollow Tine Aeration; a process which relieves compaction, allows essential air exchange and improves soil hydration.

Grass, just like all plants, has a natural life cycle and will in time die off. Mowing the lawn prevents the grass from going to seed and so this is where overseeding is important.
